160 Kapiti Road

Seismic strengthening  |  Repurposed industrial space  |  Quick project turnaround

Background:

160 Kapiti Road, previously an industrial building used for bulk retail and logistics, had been vacant for some time due to concerns about its seismic standard. The uncertainty surrounding the building’s ability to be strengthened contributed to its deterioration and underutilisation.

Solution:

Pandion applied its expertise to assess the building’s seismic issues, developing a strategy for its strengthening. Within twelve months, Pandion completed the necessary works to bring the building up to 100% of the New Building Standard (NBS). This quick turnaround made the building viable for future use, and it was subsequently purchased by a national hardware and DIY retailer.
